After getting the EAD/AP within three months, I don't think our problem is solved already. We will be at certain point in time be in the same situation as the poster above.
Who told you that you will get EAD/AP in three months. Nothing will prevent USCIS to develop backlogs in EAD/AP too now. "Oh there were so many filed in June/July so that we can't process them that fast anymore...":cool:

It's a desi company. I was under the impression that my 485 was filed and the lawyer is not willing to talk to me as well. Somehow I found out this yesterday.

Yes, please dont include money for US CIS fees as you will get that money back.
I spent $500 for medical.
Lawyer fee and other expenses (fedex etc) (around $2000) - paid by my company.
plus $1500 is filing fee (which I guess should be refunded).

It is easier for you to go to India if your company sends you there on an expat assignment. As the pool of available labor is very high, it is IMHO very difficult for you to go independently. You can also try to google for agencies that recruit people for specific skills etc that maybe in short supply in your specific industry. I am not sure what your skills are (IT, Sales, Marketing or Engineering etc). More information would let people give you better pointers.

I have suffered a lot due to this stamping business and I have a thread on IV "STUCK IN MONTREAL" I was there for almost 2 months with 2 of my sons and wife. My oldest one lost his full smester of college, 2nd one was only in 4th grade and got lucky due to his excellent record in school and hence was promoted, due to this stamping business and I was poorer by 30K. I will do whatever needs to be done to get this bill rolling and am ready to share my story with any one..
This was my 3rd stamping with the same employer and 2nd one was also in Toronto in 2005 at that time I had no problems and this time my salary was almost 30% more tan the last one in 2005.

I had gone to India for my father's 75th. b'day and planned to get my H-1 renewed. However, when I went to embassy, they said that I have to get clearance and will take one week. I said fine. One week became two weeks, then one month and then two months. I tried to contact embassy and other people, but of no use. My chief here in US, also tried. Meanwhile, my AP had arrive in US (we had filed for I485).( My wife had already got her H-1 approved and she had gone back.) She send me the AP. I contacted two of my lawyers; one said it is fine to come with AP, other said no. I send a letter to embassy asking about my travel with AP. They said, it is legal and not suggested!!!.
So after waiting for two month, I took a chance and came here on AP. At the airport, they took more than one and half hours to get be cleared, meanwhile my wife was waiting for me outside, not knowing what was happening. She was in tears when I came out finally.
After I came to US, I was informed from India that the US embassy had called and said that my name has been cleared and I should come to get my H1 visa stamped.!!!!!!!!

I still don't get it. There are around 300k AOS applications now pending. Given that there are only 10k EB based green cards for India, and I am sure there are more applications than 10k for FY2008 and still Visa bulletin for Oct indicates a date of Apr 2004. Should it not be "U" for the entire FY2008?

We are like beggars in this country. This country and its people do not want us here and are doing everything permissible under law to throw us out of here (if no law then they just make one up).
But we are such suckers that we do not want to leave this country and go back home. Gandhi fought to get rid of white masters but we were destined to serve one anyway. I don't understand why I don't live in my own country and contribute to its economy. Why am I tolling so hard to live here? I don't know when will my hard head understand this silly concept.
The reason is...probably we are not toiling that hard....As long as one has a paying job, things go reasonably smooth.....and we dont toil as much as it is made out to be.
The issue comes only when one loses the job...and had to play catch-up with immigration to keep us in status.
That is also the reason why you don't get mass participation in legal immigration activities.
I presume people are just happy with the status-quo! They think of going that extra length only when that status quo gets disrupted..

Start looking for another job. Get back to H1B and get your wife back on H4. there is nothing as important as personal life.

For me, my AP was approved (along with my wife and daughter) on Oct 1st 2006. My Notice date is Sept 10th. The LUD on AP was 10/04, which said that the approval was "mailed" on 10/02. Hwoever I recd it on 10/20 and I could see that it was mailed on 10/19 from USCIS office. So, atleast for APs, even the status shows that it's been approved and mailed as well, it seems that it's not the case. It's been taking couple of weeks to get them in hand. Hopefully this info helps some people who are still waiting for APs.
I also took an Infopass appt, as we didn't recv FP notices yet. I opened a SR, but nothing so far. It looks that I may not get before I go to infopass next week.

if any GC applicants are contracted to write new code for their system, please remember to insert some logic to 'take care' of the visa number distribution algorithms :D ...( just a joke)

I understand you don’t care about the United States and its people and you’re only interested in what you can gain from them but if you weren’t so blinded by greed you’d see this is something else they can give to you. Now I know why I took the route I did, I would have accomplished far less in my personal life with the likes of you. In fact, I may doing to much sharing my expertise with you. I refuse to have my name tarnished any further. Besides, you’re only a beginner. What was I thinking? IV really ought to make it clear to everyone that this is an amateur site. Maybe by changing its name to Beginning Immigration. IV definitely is not the voice of Immigration – my voice is different from IVs and I’m dealing with immigration. I may have to contact the internet higher-ups about this farse.
