Guys, this article is 100% correct. There are about 1 million people stuck at various stages of the green card process, H-4 dependents cannot work, and H-1Bs cannot get salary raises. Don't detract from such a good and accurate article.

My lawyer is asking 350 for EAD and 500 for AP for each person excluding filing fees.Is it normal.or Can I go to another lawyer for EAD and AP who is cheaper than my company lawyer.
Thats a lot of money for EAD & AP. The law firm might be charging 2 grand for your 485 and another grand for your spouse's 485. You dont need a lawyer for filing EAD & AP. You can file them youself along with the 485 application or after getting a receipt number from USCIS for your 485 application. Ask your law firm to prepare 485 for you and your spouse and return the application packet to you. You can sign it off, add your EAD & AP applications and send it to NSC. I supsect they would be willing to do so. By not giving them they would be forcing you to file EAD & AP through them, given that the fees for everything is going up from next month.

Starting July 16th, 2007, labor certification has a 60 day validity period. Meaning, a I-140 petition needs to be filed within 60 days from labor approval date....If immigrant visa numbers are unavailable (dates retrogressed), you wont be able to file your I-140/I-485 concurrently but you can file your I-140 petition irrespective of your priority date as long as you have a labor approved. You dont have to apply for your labor again and again....Its just that, once you get your I-140 approved, you will have to wait for dates to become current to file I-485...

Great news. By some distance this is the best news on skilled immigration front this year. This will allow all the H4 dependents who have spent time on H4 for more than 6 years to start working if they get a job with H1B.

Thanks for the good work. However, I saw a major potential flaw in estimating the applications from ROW. The report finds the life cycle for a ROWer to submit 485 is 1 year, thus assuming little AOS applications will be filed in the coming year from ROW. But this analysis forgot to consider those ROWers who started GC in year 2008. A person who started working in 11/2008 is ready to submit 485 now and uses one quota, even if a person who just started working won't be able to submit AOS till a year from now. With this under consideration, I feel the spillover will be much less than initially estimated.
Please correct me if I missed anything.
Good observation, but the economy wasn't good in 2008 either and most of the time both PERM centers were closed for business. Chicago was closed in mid year and Atlanta wasn't working from late 2007 till early 2009.
So the number of PERM approvals would be very low. Assuming CIS cleared most of the I140 backlog as they indicated, their I485 numbers should include the recent ROW approvals as they become real backlog applications (backlogged by CIS processing not by visa numbers)
I am still waiting for the 2009 DOL and State report to validate this information.

It was EB2. The vast majority of the CA's we show equivalent to a US bachelor's degree. However in this case since it is officially recognized as a PGD a professor felt it was equivalent to a US masters and USCIS agreed. As a rule I would say CA=BA + 5 years work exp is a better way to go for EB2.

It is good to get reliable first hand information from travelers instead of relying upon reports from consulates, airline websites etc which all contradict one another. Just out of curiosity, did anybody in India or Frankfurt ask to see the Advance Parole papers before allowing you to board the flight?

Unfortunately this bill seems to be a total fight between Senate v/s house, Demo v/s Repub, Repub v/s repub. Like Senator Specter said, there is almost No common vision.
Still a little confused about what the actual stance is right now with Sen Frist's bill. Are they going to go ahead with the Frist bill or is the Senate Judiciary committee going to prevail?

FBI background check delay is the only reason why visa numbers are wasted every year.
I am not sure either way, however I have heard the FBI comment that they only flag a small fraction of cases. IF that is true, then the USCIS may just be using the FBI as an excuse.

There are rumors that we will be around 5000 at the rally. Let's prove them wrong and bring at least 10,000 of our members. I am willing to share more funds for people who so far are not planning to attend, and to advertise and promote the rally as much as possible. Currently where I am working client willing to hire me as a fulltime employee with the same titile and giving me the supporting letter with the same job duties mentioned in my LC (I have added few more technologies it).
Even my attorney says the same, no need to inform CIS - when we get the RFE we will see.
Can you kindly let me know all the documents I need to gather and what I need to request from new employer in order to submit AC21 bunch to CIS.
Here are job discriptions with titles.

Analyze systems requirements, procedures & problems to automate process. Write description of user needs, program functions & steps to develop and modify systems.
