possibilities:
1. Airport Express 2.0 with support for video streaming or (Airtunes 2.0)
2. Wireless AppleTV
3. WiMax or 3G integrated with new MacBooks
4. Slingbox to iPhone (as already rumored)
5. Some sort of iTunes integration with in-flight entertainment
6. Super-light MacBooks
Last year was iPhoneWorld so I don't think Jobs will concentrate much on the iPhone this year. I also don't think it is Slingbox because that would mean a product developed by someone other than Apple would take center stage...and that will never happen. A light computer is not really "in the air." Apple is too clever for that to be what they mean. And I don't think this will turn into AppleTVWorld either (although I do expect AppleTV-related announcements).
No...I think the focus will be on the Macintosh at this year's MacWorld. Therefore I vote for #3. Imagine every new MacBook equipped with an AirPort card that can access AT&T's 3G network. No more searching for WiFi spots. You could access the Internet at fast speeds while cruising down the highway! Pretty cool. It would definitely catch the competition off guard.

You guys do realize that your 3G is realistically 4 years old, right? It used the same processor, screen, graphics and RAM as the very first iPhone. They just added the 3G/aGPS chip to make it a 3G device. Four years is an eternity in cell phones.
Thats no excuse for apple to gimp the 3g. iphones are not meant to be disposable, they cost over $600+. All these bloated updates are bogging down that little phone's system. They should have their own lighter update packages.
I use an old, cheap, Nokia 3500 and its as fast as the day I bought it. It will surely last many more years to come. Then again, its not really a little computer with a phone in it. But this baby sure lasts.

Sigh. The MBP offers a lot more than a faster CPU. Larger screen, dedicated GPU, better I/O, backlit keyboard to mention a few things. The MBP is a portable workstation and the MB is a notebook.
But a very fast and capable notebook. Unless you're dependent on GPU power, such as porting a high-end PC game to the Mac, then the difference is moot for most people. The MB is super overpowered for email and web browsing.

This is rather cool. I've put my iPod on eBay, to finish on Sunday 10th, because I'm thinking of getting a Nano, but as it happens it's rather good timing, both to get a good price for it, and for me getting a Nano. First time ever it's worked out like this — a rumour for something I'm getting, so I can be excited about Tuesday. :D
And if I don't like the new ones, there's always refurbs. :)

I hope they provide some opportunity of preventing 3g based updating. As not everyone in the world will be using their iPhones through the 'approved' provider. I know I dont, and a normaly Apple 700meg update will absolutely slaughter my bill (70$ worth of data charges)

I'm stopping at the Apple Store after work to (hopefully) get the 8GB. I wish it came in other colors. I really like the pink and the green.
Can't wait to plug my Shure E500s into something new. :)
It'll be sad to retire my old black 4GB, as it's almost reach the zenith of scratchedness -- where you can barely read text on the screen. It will now join the others in my iPod "Museum".
Still waiting for the regular iPod with full-coverage touch screen and virtual control wheel. ;)

Our country's cycle of support>arm>aid>turn against>support new group needs to stop, as it is directly responsible for much of the instability we've seen in the world over the last 20+ years.
American foreign policy has indeed come up quite short in the foresight department. However, Khadahphee (or however it gets spelt) rose to power with no real assistance from other countries and has only been supported indirectly, through people buying oil. The only support Libya gets from the US is indirect, from irresponsible excess in oil consumption that keeps the prices up for everyone.

The ios iPod app is an abomination. Even with my moderately sized(about 3000 songs, most are just vocab flash cards) the thing chokes on my 3gs and even a bit on 1g iPad. It takes seconds, yes SECONDS to respond to input, not to mention all the crashing. Even if they could make a 128gb iPod touch, I would shudder to think at how insanely slow the iPod app would be if you loaded that puppy up with music.
In my case it's adding ONE podcast to listen too before bed, then waiting forever as it sits there "updating" the library. I can sync and start to listen to it in the same time on my classic.

A few minutes ago my Nexus S notified me of a new Android update. It had automatically downloaded the 90mb file over my WiFi network and was asking for permission to install. Two minutes later and my phone is now completely up to date (Google fixed some bugs and added FaceTime-like video calling).
There was no backup process, no lengthy resync and, most of all, no fuss. This seamless experience would be awesome on iOS.

It's all fun and games until someone wakes up with a dead horse head in their bed.
But seriously... $9.99 to $12.99 movie downloads when I can go over to any store (like, oh, say, Wal-Mart) and buy the real deal for a buck or two more? Just how in God's name is this a threat to them?! Wal-Mart's smartest move would be to drop their DVD prices by that buck or two, until they cost the SAME or LESS than online downloads.
not factoring in the gas to get there. maybe drop it 5 bucks to copensate lol

Did Apple buy out whatever company made Cover Flow? If not, that's fairly shady of them. They didn't even bother to change the name.

The video of the wireless mac hack has finally been made publically available on Kaneva:
http://www.kaneva.com/asset/8469.storeItem
Just in time for developcon...
That was actually a hack of a wireless USB card, not a hack of the Mac itself; the Mac was just used for publicity. The hack only works with this wireless USB card, not with the built-in wireless. The news stories attached to this stunt were quite misleading...
Plugging a wireless USB card into any computer is just like handing a hacker your keyboard, the computer handles it just like any other input device. So, if you handed a hacker your keyboard and didn't encrypt and password protect your files, would you expect the OS to protect them?

Is the gapless playback only a feature of the full size pod or does it carry over to the nano too?
I believe that the Nanos can play gapless. I looked on the tech specs page on Apple's site but i don't see it. I could be wrong but i'm pretty sure that the Nanos can play gapless.
As for my opinion on the nanos...
I dislike them. I wasn't fond of the Mini asthetics wise. Durable, for sure. But I just don't find them as nice to look at, and now that the Nanos are the same tacky colors, it's back to the ugliness. I know people were buying up the Minis, I'm just personally not a fan of the styling... If you all want to buy them up go ahead, just count me out :p

read this somewhere- not sure if it has been posted here yet. Seems like the MBP at the end of the banner has a different (thinner) speaker design than both the current MBP 15' & 17'
Here are some images of the banner, MBP 15 & 17
it's just the refraction from the glass at that angle...
there are some straight-on photos (http://flickr.com/photos/66488342@N00/206009315/in/set-72157594223273881/) that confirm it's the same.
apple isnt going to give away anything with this banner that can be seen by the general public.

F Wal-Mart, there is simply nothing positive or good about the entire organization. I have nothing more to say on the subject.

I just bought a used 160GB iPod Classic last week. Having my entire music library in my car at all times: Priceless.
I would love to have this in my car also-I just wished it would have an FM receiver (don't ask!).

Maybe a whole new kind of display using E ink. Sony has something called a Reader that uses it. It draws very little power, none at all if the background is static and unmoving.
Look at it here. http://www.eink.com/
But does it do color? It would suck if you it was b/c you'd have to buy one iPod that uses this for books/artricles and another for videos.

Random? What was random about the levels to you? They made plenty of sense to me with regards to the story.
The player has a re-entry pack on. You can see this in the cutscene both on the Covenant ship, and at the start of the next level when he/she pulls out their pistol from it. Also, this level, Exodus, takes place 10 days later. You've walked to New Alexandria, but you are only helping the Army there on the way to meeting back up with your team. You don't meet up with them until the end of the following level.
I know they can fall from like they do. Where does it say 10 days later? Like I said that was my opinion. The story is rubbish.

Those are CCD sensors not CMOS image sensors.
Exmor sensors are CMOS. I think Sony stopped making CCD or atleast not popular of making CCD sensors.

I like this debate. :p
Bottom line, people in here that don't think Flash is bad and holding back web progression are either uneducated, or misinformed PERIOD!
It is as simple as that. That is all I have to say! Sorry guys.
