It doesn't matter...the new nanos wouldn't qualify for the promotion.
Same thing happend last year...the nanos were released before the free iPod mini promo ended.
But if they release the new nano's at the same price as the previous ones, I don't see a reason why they wouldn't include those same priced nano's in the promotion. If they're more expensive, they'll treat it as the other iPods in the promotion--you just have make up the rest of the cost.

Are you satisfied with your Beats by Dre ?
I wasn't the original poster, but I've got a pair of these too and love them. The sound is phenomenal, however I have a big head (apparently) and they are a little tight.

I see this as an excuse for the developer to explore new horizons. Was it not the same "middleman process" when he first submitted the FaceBook app?? I'm sure it was; however maybe the recent changes are slowing final development to fruition & consumption.
Still the web still has a LONG way to go to become so called "best mobile app" because not all data should be sourced in real time or pulled/pushed when needed by the user. Many places where wireless provider data is STILL not truely unlimited & thus restricted (Canadian providers ALL the incumbents STILL charge & cap a specific ceiling of 1-2GB monthly with few % on the offered/pulled 6gb of data; along with tethering restrictions/allowances and so called "fair use" policies).
There are many applications that serve just as well or better with a single burst of data for 1 time & initial requests. Only specific changes in data which wold affect users are required and incremental.
Some applications, like stock data for trading applications, world news events/reports - need and require a continuous stream of data. Issue is web based cloud "apps" (more like interfaces) change not only the data presented to the end user, but many times augmenting the GUI layout which most of the times is not needed; this lacks in efficient data streaming, and more data bucket usuage & costs to the end user.
There is a HUGE reason why WML/WAP1.1 failed, and why WAP2.0 is in a static state of developmental evolution and suits feature phones, and not smartphones.
Yes I'm aware of HTML5 and what GoogleWave presents - but it proves that the GUI layout consistently changes due to new data streams and provides great event notifications - but its NOT suited for a battery packing handheld smartphone/feature phone device. To put it simply developers that code specifically to the web think of Desktops/Laptops (and recently MIDS) First & Foremost; mobile is thought up of only after mass consumption of their work is taken noticed. THAT is the issue.
Smartphones are THE MOST PERSONAL and trusted computing platform and thus heavily guarded by the end user. As such there NEEDS to be some kind of regulation, to what extent can be argued and never resolved for the next 10yrs - but it cannot nor should NOT be left to the end user!
At one point in the future, a smartphones evolution as a mobile device to a lifestyle personal companion should be as easy, as free, and as care free to use as our voices, words and hands (in any language, context & intent) and evolve as such. The only limitations are common sense, experience, and specific laws & moral aptitude for their uses.
Wow, that is thinking different. I think I'm high!!

i really think is comming out this tuesday i mean a lot of people are reporting problems of stock in a lot of shops around the world and it doesnt make sense that there is a sudden lack of mbps if there is no update commign soon..
Sorry to disagree. My local Best Buy, Amazon, and B&H Photo (where I buy my camera equiptment and a good place to buy computers with no tax and Apple Care for a great price) are all fully stocked. This could be the stores knowing the product life cycle and trying to reduce inventories by ordering less and less with each restock.
I could easily see them releasing after the stock is truly depleted so no one needs to discount to move out old inventory which is probably more profitable at the moment. But, I don't know and can't see any reason at this point to hold off introducing a new computer in fear of compromising iPad sales.
Anyway, the complete lack of any tangible rumors for a 'this Tuesday' release is keeping my expectations low. I am placing the odds, based on nothing, at 1:4 for this Tuesday and 4:5 for the next four Tuesdays. If not this Tuesday I may instead buy a refurb imac. Apple told me that I could return it within 30 days (of placing the order) without a restock fee if I exchange for a higher priced item. It looks like a refurb imac 3.3 and a MB might cost about the same as a high end 15" MBP. Anyway, the wait goes on.

Only because the US were supplying the British and not supplying the Germans.
Like I said, I know that. But, if I am remembering correctly they were supposed to let the men get off the ship before the U-Boats would sink them. The Germans failed to do that.

Proof? Or did you just make that up? Also, this thread isn't just about the US, the trend is the same in every predominantly white country where blacks reside.
It isn't my job to educate you on the facts - Read (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Race_and_crime_in_the_United_States), focusing on the linked statistical breakdowns by ethnicity. You'll have to nose around to find all the data. All that the facts proove is that poor black people with little education who grow up in economically depressed comunities and are surrounded by crime are more likely to commit crimes - but are also more likely to be profiled by law enforcement and the justice system. Also, the data are skewed towards urban areas, meaning that poor rural crime is less well documented.
In other words, it is totally impossible to make any purely race-focused judgemnent from the data because there are so many other factors involved. The same problems arise when examining crime data from any other nation with a minority black population, or any minority population for that matter.
I'd rather live in a white trash trailer park than in a black ghetto.
Irrelevant.
They are both lousy, but trailer parks are safer. People may get into domestic disputes in their own trailers and call the police, but you don't see white gangs terrorizing the streets and having to worry about getting shot walking outside your front door after dark.

really. that's awesome! If you don't mind me asking how much did the 8GB come out to after the education discount?
It was $20 off. It came to $248 and some change so basically tax gets taken off in NY.

Looking forward to the updates, no doubt. Will be my first Mac and the waiting is what makes us feel alive. ;) It's like those old time Heinz ketchup commercials that always end up in "the best thing comes to those who wait".

That $1199 iMac has lots of other wonderful features including a screen, but if you think it is anywhere close to the performance of a i7-2600 based PC (that go for $750 from HP/Dell) then you are delusional. To get something from Apple with an equivalent processor you are looking at a $2199 iMac or a $2499 Mac Pro. Doesn't matter that in the long term the Mac could be a better value, some people can't justify that huge price difference or paying additional for features they don't need or want or cannot afford to.
Again Macs are a premium product and because of that Apple will hit a ceiling of those who can afford or justify buying their products.
i7 based AIO for 750 from Dell? Oh wait, tell me you didn't just compare a Tower to an All in One computer.
Seriously. Why the hell do people do this? It's like comparing a truck to a roadster.

Way back when, I asked my mother to buy me the first Beatles album, Meet the Beatles. I remember being home, sick in bed, home from school and she came home with the bag. I was so excited. I ripped it open (ripped meant something very different in 1964) and out I pulled : The Buggs: The Beetle Beat (note spelling)........my friends laughed at me
that sux :( my friend found out her brother liked the beatles so she thought she would buy some for him. she went on itunes about 3 mo ago and bought an album. brother see's it and says thats not the beatles....heart break :(

I suggest a thread on vehicle selection. My new bud, iliketyla, and I are on the case. He, iliketyia, has a scooter and I have a well equipped SUV. My nano is hooked into the sound system his, I suspect, is hooked into ear buds.
So, my dream car is the Audi A8. How about you?
Haha! Yes sir, got some Skull Candy earbuds that provide premium sound quality.
My dream car is Eleanor from Gone In Sixty Seconds.

Biggest advantage I can see would be adding and removing seats on a month-by-month basis based on business needs. For example, imagine your business suddenly picks up for a couple of months, and need an extra license for a contractor or other temporary worker you bring on.
You're right, though, in that if you miscalculate, you may end up paying more for a temporary license than you would for a permanent one.
This. For agencies who hire temporary designers paying $129 for a month's liscense is a great idea. (Rather than have to purchase a full copy at retail).
I'm not getting it because I'm not paying $549 to go from CS5 MC to 5.5. It's a cash grab and I can live without the new features. I always wait until the next FULL update.

I just downloaded the update, it told me something failed and I need to restore my iPhone. I am on try 3 and it is still failing every time it tries to restore. It's giving me error code 1013. I would stay away from this update for at least a day or two until others give feedback. It doesn't seem to be that critical of an update anyways.
It's not bricked. You've been using TinyUmbrella, so it didn't allow the baseband to get updated. Fix your hosts file and it will be fine.

It's just like what happened to Music. Even if it takes off on the iTunes Store, I dont think that the sales of DVDs will be affected very much. So I dont see what the deal would be. Unless its a union
I meant union as in Wal Mart fears its employees forming a workers union...nothing to do with movies or Apple.
