I am not an expert in law but we cannot "Force" the deparment of state to release numbers. However some numbers are already available for 2005 in usage stats.
If they waste numbers in 2006, then they may be recaptured and used in 2007 - ONLY IF - the comprehensive bill or the PACE act passes as both have recapture provision.
Doesnt the ombudsman report show all numbers even today? I thought they did.

everyone is excited about the new look. But not fun to see so many threads on the same. Maybe we can use one thread. :)

Yes this looks bad, and what we're trying to do with MI will be stomped on to a large extent by this.
The key problem is that it assumes that DHS SAVE system is up to date, and we know how far USCIS gets with data entry.
Also licenses to be marked as temporary.

Recently, I made my own PP photos using http://www.epassportphoto.com/
This is a great service - It creates a jpeg file from a picture that you upload, and you can choose the "free" option in which you can save the jpeg file with 4-6 pictures in one frame (A 4" x 6" photo can yield 6 pp photos of 2" x 2"), and take it to Walgreens/Costco/Kinkos for a printout for $0.25 each. Otherwise you pay about $8-$12 for 2 photos at the same stores!!
For a family of 4, this equates to savings of ~ $40!!!
The site has all the tools for meeting various types of visa/pp/etc photo requirements for various countries.
Most WOLF camera and RITZ camera stores do the same thing for free. I have done this many times. Use a good digital camera and take the pics in memory stick or USB and they crop the photo to the right passport specifications. All you pay for is the print which is $0.25 or less.
Its good to know we have an online option as well. Thanks for the info hinvin66.

I got the e-mail that card prodn. is ordered. Not sure if i'll get one year or 2 years EAD renewal now. I filed in Nebraska center. I called USCIS and asked them but they are not sure either.. I hate to miss out of 2 yr EAD just 'cos it got approved today but not Monday. Is there any way to appeal for a 2 yr EAD ????
I think it is 2 years for approvals that occur after June 30th. Which means yours might be a 1 year deal

Quite typical - on the one hand mouths off against illegals, but on the other hand employs them, I presume at below minimum wage with no benefits. And these are the people who want to be President of this country. Dobbs is nothing but a low life.

Hi,
Can someone please clarify with AC21 can I take up a job Position as "IT PROJECT MANAGER 11-3021.00" whereas my EB3 Labor is filed as "Computer Programmers - 15-1021.00" ?
My I-485 is still pending past 180 days and I-140 is approved.
Thanks so much in advance for replying.
You can take any job as long as the duties of the new job falls under the
Job Code 15-1021.00. which is your original approved labor job code.
Any thing other than that is a straight NO.
ALSO PLEASE UPDATE YOUR PROFILE

Oh! Thanks for the explanation. We will ask his old employer if he would give us the letter. Honestly I doubt.... if he can give the letter without an active payroll or a Purchase order for a future project. No harm in tring though.....

That's a good theory Fred, the gulls seem to get in a frenzy for instance if there is food around, so it wouldn't be unlikely that they get careless enough to fly into things.

Hello,
Last November I quit my job in the US and left the country as well. Two days ago, I received an email saying my 485 is approved, and card production was ordered. The card will go to an address in the US where someone can forward me the mail.
What should I do? Try to enter the U.S. with the card? What to say to POE officials? WIll I be questioned?
Thanks.
Once you get your green card, you are supposed to go work for the company who applied for your green card or work in a same or similar job. So it is good to have a job offer in hand. Talk to an Attorney on what are the potential questions at POE as you have been out of the country for a long time.

I have a close friend who has floated a company to pursue an entrepreneurial dream.
My husband is currently working in US and has filed for GC (140 approved status). I have an EAD and am working in a company very close to where I am staying.
My friend has requested me to help market clients for the product that they are developing.. Is it ok for me to approach companies, as a representative of my friend's company and try selling the product(strictly non-compensational)? Or will there be legal hassles in doing this? Please enlighten me with your thoughts..
Appreciate your help in advance.
Since you are on EAD, and I presume you are the dependent applicant, there is no limit on the number of jobs that you can have....Definitely there is no legal hassle...and I wonder why you want to just volunteer? If its fear of legal implication then, change your mind and get paid !!! :)

Hello All
I have a question concerning my EAD.Company A applied for my H-1B After an year I have trfd my H-1 to company B and I have been working with company B for the past 2yrs 10 months. My H-1 b is due to expire in feb 2009.Company B Applied for my green card also. I-140 approved in November 2007.I got EAD in oct 2007 and has a valid EAD up to aug 2010.technically I am on EAD since I entered the country on advance parole. Now my company is going to renew my H-1 B .In light of the bill that has been passed which doesnot allow forfresh H-1 B as well as H-1 B renewals, what happens to my EAD if my H-1 renewal petetion gets denied?Does denial of non immigrant petetion leads to denial of immigrant visa (i.e pending adjustment of status). What happens to my EAD.I am worried a lot.Pls advice?Should I request my company to stop the renewal process so that I can stay on EAD only.

I would suggest that the letter be sent at the time of filing the second EB2 I 140. This is the way my attorney filed.
What if I-140 gets denied? Will there be any harm to the existing I-485?Need YES or NO answer Please!
Our discussion should be like this
a)I-140+Interfile together
Pros:
1.fast approval.meaning takes less time to get GC. Recommended if we are sure about I-140 approval.
..
Cons:
1.If I-140 gets denied I-485 gets denied
..
b)Interfile after I-140 approval
Pros:
1.No harm to I-485 If 140 gets denied
..
Cons:
1.takes more time to get GC
...
Add more pros and cons to each scenario...

Thanks nozerd & GVR for the responses. Helps out a lot in planning the trip.
I guess googling the SIN application process would help, but if you have reliable pointers please send them this way.
At POE they will ask you for an address for the PR card. Normally at land border they are strict and wont take a friends address etc. At airport they tend to be easier on you in accepting any address.
You dont need to do anything else. You may apply for a SIN number (Canada equivalent for an SSN) so that in the future if and when you do move there you can start working from day 1 because YOU WILL need SIN to work in Canada.
Many also start a bank account to show ties. You can do this depending on how much chance you think there is if you move there in the next 3 yrs before you loose your PR status.
