the best way to get more support is to be more inclusive .... what I mean is 1) either we have a parallel campaign for those who are on EAD's only 2) add EAD issue to this campaign too.

The current $8,000 tax credit, first passed in February as part of a $787 billion fiscal stimulus plan, is limited to first-time home buyers and expires at the end of November. The proposed plan would expand eligibility to all home buyers and increase the credit to $15,000.
The U.S. housing market is in the midst of its worst downturn since the Great Depression. Home prices have been falling since peaking in the second quarter of 2006, and the Obama Administration has tried various measures to restore that market through tax benefits and temporary halts to foreclosures.
"Congress is focusing on the foreclosure problem, which is a good thing, but they need to focus more on the demand side," he said. Gillespie said market realities have come to bear as well.
"Many people got spoiled by mortgage rates at 5 percent and below," he said. "When the mortgage rate rose above 5 percent, it spooked many buyers who were already hesitant," he said.

Personally I do think if DREAM ACT is passed, it will be easier to voice another bill to be passed to allow legal working immigrants (EB-1, 2, 3) to get green cards. I said this based on logical reason----people from DREAM ACT are illegal immigrants, so if DREAM ACT is passed, illegals will be turned into legal immigrants. So by logical reasons, legal working immigrants gain legal entry to US for jobs or for schools before, they should get green cards by logical and reasoning approach because they have paid taxes and expensive international tuition fees for years to help the US economy before.
Also, since NOT all EB legal working immigrants have US advanced degrees in Science & Medicine, therefore, similarly by logical and reasoning approach, any US advanced degrees in Science & Medicine graduates should have a chance or path to get green cards or to start up companies in US to help the US economy better. More legal immigrants buy houses and set up companies in US, more jobs created and more prosperous the US economy will be

You're absolutely right. Ever since last year's H1-b lottery, I look at this country in a new light. I no longer see this U.S. as the world's greatest country, I suspect this is a civilization in decline. If I were to make a bet where this country will be in 50 years, I would bet it would lose it's position as a superpower and the most successful economy.
This H-1b and GC mess to me is an indicator of how things are run in this country. With all these major problems: immigration, healthcare -- there's just an attempt to sweep problems quietly under the rug or apply band-aid fixes such as a lottery.
Thousands of advanced degree holders are being kicked out of the country and a million people are stuck in a GC mess -- no one cares, it's no-one's business. The human being is like a tiny and replacable cog in the system.
Of maybe ~500 highly influential people in Washington DC (congressmen + senators + president + DHS high officials) maybe 3-4 people are expressing outrage at the EB GC and H1B mess. Zoe Lofgren is one, maybe a few others. The rest think the system is just fine.
Barack Obama spoke in the senate last July and said that the employment-based immigration system is working so well, we shouldn't make any changes!
Sorry, seeing this week's H1B brings out the pessimist in me. Maybe there's hope for legal immigrants in the future, but only if we keep fighting.

so you don't see a difference in how a private organization and a non-profit organization operates. Well here are some:
1. In your office, you are actually working for your boss and you are getting paid to do what they want you to do. I don't remember getting any pay check from IV. In fact, I have written several checks to IV. This doesn't mean I can post whatever I want but as long as I am following IV guidelines, I shouldn't get harassed by folks like you who think that their post is the only important post.
2. If you don't do what you are told at work, they'll fire your a&& and you wouldn’t know how to pay your bills next month. That's why the CEO or your boss don't have to send you a one liner before they take any decision.
As far as I know, IV is just a group of people coming together to address a problem which is shared by all members. I know that some people have worked harder than others and some people have contributed more than others but everyone has contributed one way or the other. So for you to come out and say that you are the only one doing all the work and others are just doing nothing and some how you are the CEO of this organization is just beyond my imagination. May be it's time you wake up and smell the coffee.

The fine print matters as always:
"A portion of these cases are both outside normal processing times and have an FBI name check that has been pending for more than 180 days."
They'll define normal processing times in some weaselly way of course -- like that random date they show in the processing time charts. It is not the normative 6 months timeframe, since the statement implies that an application that has a current PD and has been pending for 180 days (cos its name check is pending for 180 days presumably the application has been pending 180 days) can be "within normal processing times."
So current PD + 180 day pending namecheck = 47K.
And current PD + 180 pending namecheck + outside "normal processing times" = 10K.
The 10K is from the Ron Gotcher post on Imminfo (http://immigration-information.com/forums/showpost.php?p=14035&postcount=1).
Note that the TSC processing date for EB I-485 moved back to April from May 24, 2007. So the flood of applicants from June are certainly not "within normal processing times" even if they fell out of the BECs and have an early PD, and have a namecheck pending >180 days.

Mine was filed in NSC on July 24th, I140/485 only got transfered to TSC on Sept 14th, Got EAD from CSC on Sept 21, AP from CSC on Sept 25, FP notice on Sept 29th for october 16th.

using a flash is ok, just be careful if you wear glasses (you might need some retakes before you get it right). and turn on red eye removal. 3.2 mp for the size (2x2) of picture is good enough.. Even 1 mp is good enough if you are zooming in to take pictures. but if you are cropping a 1 mp picture to take out surroundings, its better to use 2mp plus camera.
When using a flash you get harsher shadows, to counter that have light source both from left right and top and do the picture in daytime with atleast some natural light. Remember stand atleast 2 feet away from the white background.
Flash results specially in home environment without proper lighting won't be good at nighttime unless you use multiple synchronised flash guns.
I guess the other persons remark regarding flash may be related to lighting / over exposures/ shadows. (make sure you wipe your face if you have oily skin - no kidding )
In the end if you really want to make your pictures look good and per specifications go to a portrait studio.

I had also received an RFE.
An acceptable evaluation must:
1) consider formal eduction only
2) state if collegiate eduction is post-secondary education (i.e did appicant complete the US equivalant high school before entering college)
3) provide detailed explanation of material provided
For EB2 degree.. even if your labor states only Masters degree is required you need to prove that minimum education required for master's degree is Bachelors degree and a minimum requirement for Bachelors degree is your 10 + 2 high school education. Please contact thedegreepeople.com (sheila), they helped me in getting my I-140 approved.

Service industry is not always based on labor cost differentials. Many services are value added services. For example, stock brokers used to charge $200 and above for stock trades; however, electronic brokers came and made the industry efficient and hence can profit more by charging only $10 or even less. High investments in R&D in general is good for economy but not necessarily true for a company. For example, German manufacturers are best R&D shops; however, their over investment in precision is precisely their problem. On the other hand Apple copied mp3 music players from Creative and made millions. One can find countless examples of skilled marketing (services) not innovative products making money. So don't assume that R&D investments are always good for a company.
Finally, Wipro & the likes -- they have already opened up shops in China, Mexico, Brazil (yes)... and finally if dollar falls further they could actually buy the US companies and make them efficient (Honda and GM example).
As long as quick money can be invested into wise investments, it can be safe. But do remember, to build anything from scratch is a pain, but to manage and service it is easy. All the easy money, if invested in long term growth will be very benefitial to humanity

IMHO "legally" exploiting the system is illegal. I don't blame the system because any system will have some flaws in them. I would rather blame people who take advantage of situations esp in scenarios like this. We all know how much time some people has waited here. We heard a story on Monday right? Have we already forgot that? IV's goals and objectives are clear on its home page. Here comes the OP, registers himself and comes up with his first post of Labor substitution and how to better himself. I don't see any thing wrong in pete getting fired up. This exact attitude is the result of 6500 members and not 25,000 or what ever.
